Analise, if you are a member of Costco, AAA or, better yet, a professional organization, you can sometimes get great rates from the majors. I recently got a $16/day compact (and was given a complimentary upgrade to a convertible) from Avis in LAS thanks to a professional organization affiliation. I've also gotten good Costco rates.
