Obviously a 34 minute D-D connection is impossible at O'Hare, so I asked a rebooking agent who oh-so-helpfully rebooked me on:

AA 2074 PHL-CLT 1730 1921
AA 463 CLT-PHX 1955 2232
You would have had 48 minutes to connect at ORD and 65 at CLT.

To be fair, assuming your profile location is correct, < an hour in an unfamiliar city/country could be a concern. But I have no problem with AA doing it proactively, and agree you should check and make changes as you see appropriate.
