If your ticket was an award ticket, you probably won't receive mileage credit. As far as I know, UA (and possibly other carriers) do not allow mileage or segment earning on tickets purchased with points.
It was not an "award" ticket; it was a ticket purchased with UR points through the Ultimate Rewards portal. (Whether those tickets are exempt from mileage earnings, I do not know.)
