The Ritz was better for us as it was on Pointsavers and the same "price" as the Marriott and Ren. If it was 100 dollars more I would stay at the Marriott.

As noted above, paying in dollars saves you a considerable amount over paying in CLP as the currency exchange fee is smaller than the VAT.
