This was also my experience working the AA ramp for 25 years at LAX and SJC. Unless there was a must-ride/AOG, first off was non-priority mail, followed by cargo. If we were at limits and had bags left, we called "Loads" to open the window in our DECS system. On the SJC-NRT MD-11 back in the day, we sometimes had to remove massive pallets of produce, as this was a very common commodity among our cargo each day.
