How do you prove a reconfirmation, considering that generally you are on the road on you way back to the airport for the homebound flight and there is no way to get it in writing?

Otherwise what is to prevent airlines from covering up their overbooking by saying that a passenger here and there did not reconfirm?

(What words, exactly, should you say when reconfirming by phone?)
