Another mistake they make in interpreting the data is to assume that experience and age are coorelated.

Most licensed pilots in their 20's have very little experience, 200 hours or less. A pilot in his 20's flying for a regional airline has significant experience and training. In fact, he has much more experience than your average licensed pilot in his 30s, 40s, or 50s.

Their data seems to coorelate experience to increased safety but a 25 yr old airline pilot has much more experience than most pilots so he's should be in the safer group due to his experience not the less safe group due to his age.
