I have not used them specifically but I havem any firends who have and their rates are good...watch theminimum deposit/cleaning fee for some apartmentsd.
NY specifically abounds in these types of arrangements - we have used Oxbridge, A Hospitality Company and All Seasons in the past.
For London I kmow "A home From Home" or Home From Home was quite reasonable for friends who had longish stays there.
