BA Metal Cheaper via AA on Codeshare, usual?
Hi,

I've been looking for ABZ-MCO flights and car on BA on 06/10/16 to 20/10/16. Price is coming in cheapest on BA direct at £2,357 travelling Y, 2 adults 2 children. Flights only for £2,226. Cheapest routing is ABZ-LHR-JFK-MCO then MCO-JFK-LHR-ABZ on way back.

However, when I check ITA Matrix and AA.com I can get much cheaper tickets on BA Metal. For example, I can find ABZ-LHR-MIA-MCO AND MCO-PHL-LHR-ABZ for £1,746 on ITA all on BA metal (using AA codeshare for LHR-MIA) apart from MIA-MCO and MCO-PHL via AA obviously.

Why is this and is it normal? Almost £500 cheaper via AA. I ideally wanted to book BA as I wanted to book the car as well and get the avios. Is there any way of forcing BA.com to do this routing as I can't seem to find a way.
