Didn't have original credit card for IB flight - so entire flight cancelled

I know not strictly BA but everyone is helpful in this board and I'm after some advice.
Booked LIS>MAD>BOG>CTG on IB then returning PTY>MAD>LHR. last segment on BA. All in J for Xmas and new year.
I'm at LIS now but didn't have the original card. My mistake and the email does say I should.
Flight was still open but I was sent back and forth between check in and ground services. Originally told I had to buy a whole new ticket, then IB contact center told the supervisor I could have the same fare and just 30 euros, then changed their minds and said that wasn't possible. In the meantime the flight closed and I'm now a no show.
There are no IB staff at LIS and couldn't get anywhere. Spoke to IB on the phone who said it could have been done whilst the flight was open but not now.
Just spoke to BA gold line who were great and tried to help by speaking to IB, but no joy unfortunately. They said the cost will be €2300 plus a change fee.
Now just contemplating booking the BA flight back to LHR :-( I've also got internal flights in Colombia and Panama.
Have to say not impressed with IB customer service. I know it's my fault but a little bit of flexibility, when I have a passport and 2 other credit cards in the same name.
