Gimme a break, travel is not a 9-5 job.</font>
I don't disagree with you but how much more time should frequent travelers be giving to their companies above and beyond what they or others at the same job would give when at home?
To quote my boss "Weekends are yours and I want you to spend them with your wife but Monday to Friday...you're mine"
We buy B2B tickets or use discount airlines for appropriate trips but when I travel across country (3 times zones going east)he tells me to leave Monday and get home Friday. That means 3 days of work in between sometimes. Because of how well he treats me I:
1. keep my expenses in line as much as possible.
2. Often take a late Friday night flight and get home between 6:00pm and 10:00pm (2 time zones only) but not every time and especially not two weeks in a row.
He leaves me alone and so I travel 2 out of 3 weeks for him. I guess it's a give and take thing.
I'll throw the question out there to everyone:
How much "extra" time should we have to put in (or our employers expect us to put in)above office employees because we are traveling for work?
