New Company Travel Policy - Help!
Our new travel planner is pushing real hard for everyone that travels on company business to utilize the discount airlines (ATA, Frontier, etc.) at all possible times. In some ways I agree (it is cheaper) but in other areas I don’t such as reliability (if I have to be at a meeting, I really have to be there!) and the amount of time that I’d spend connecting vs. being home if I use a non-stop flight. Making the matter worse is the fact that our travel planner has no experience in actually traveling herself as she never travels so she has no idea of the hassles/stress dealing with connections and other travel issues. The discount carriers usually leave real early in the morning meaning I have to get up at 4AM and isn’t that my time (?) and return real late at night around 10PM – and I miss my home life. With a direct flight I’m usually leave home by 7AM and I’m home by 6PM or so. Anyone have thought/feed back on this?
