Just finishing two night stay.
I cannot say enough good things about the staff, they are uniformly wonderful.
Upgraded to a club room as Diamond. The rooms are nice enough, but I'm not a fan of the layout, nearly all the club rooms overlook the pool which can get very noisy during the day (noise restrictions are not being enforced). I finally wound up with one of the ground floor Club Deluxe rooms, which is larger than the 2nd and 3rd floor rooms, and has a patio, but is also rather dark.
The Regency Club has to be one of the nicest in the entire system. Evening spread is quite nice, as is the breakfast, which includes omelette bar, bacon, potatoes, and several other hot options. Staff in the club is super helpful.
Beach is fantastic for running at low tide. Flat and sand is well packed. At mid to high tide, there is no beach.
As noted above, the hotel is quite family oriented and there are lots of young kids running around. They do close the pool at 5 p.m., so it quiets down some after that.
Pretty easy to get into town. Taxi is 150 THB. Hotel also runs a shuttle seveeral times per day for only 50 THB.
I took the shuttle down from the Erawan. It's well priced at only 600 THB but I wouldn't do it again, as the Toyota van is very loud. Booked a private car for the return.
Overall a nice stay and a very nice property, but not sure I would return just because the family scene is not really my thing.
