So today really pissed me off. I fly from Hannover , Germany and land in Amsterdam with a 1.5 hr connection. I rush to the transfer gate and inquire about my GUC. The lady says that if it doesn't clear 24 hrs in advance, then I am removed from the waiting list...also that Delta One had filled up. May I note that there was 7 seats open the night before.

I explained to her that the GUC can be cleared at the gate and she was referring to using miles. She got a serious attitude and told me to check the T's and C's. So I rush to the gate and I get the same response but another lady said I had been taken off the upgrade list since "I didn't clear 24hrs ahead". I can only imagine that non revenue passengers got the Delta One seats...I highly doubt 7 were sold the day of. So at this point I'm super pissed. Well I had to board anyway and I sat in comfort +.

I call the diamond line while on my flight during boarding and explain everything and they are very apologetic. They explained that since KLM is controlling the flight, they must not have known the rules of the GUC blah blah blah. So they give me a $200 flight voucher. I land in Atlanta and then see that my GUC was marked as closed even after all of this! I call the diamond line and they put in a request to reopen the voucher.

What total bs. I'm going to write a formal complaint to delta just so this doesn't happened to anyone else in the future and in hopes that they get the message across to KLM so that the GUC's are utilized for what they are worth.

Guess I'm spoiled by Delta One but my ride from amsterdamn sucked lol
