JFK T8 (AA) has its own CBP facility, and it makes for an easier connection - you just re-drop your bag, and then go upstairs to clear security. If there are IRROPS, AA is pretty good about taking care of you in advance, including having any new BP awaiting you as you disembark with an "express connection" envelope, which allows you expedited procedures.

You will also remain indoors the entire time, which while this month, NYC has been unseasonably warm, may change if real winter ever hits.
Thanks to everyone for their feedback !

I managed to have my booking completed, and will be happy to fly LH-JFK on a AA 772 with the new business class. Only window forward seat was 10L... I will then continue on a 321T to LAX (seat 10A) and fly on the way back from LAX to LHR on the 773, seat 3J (was happy to secure a seat in the mini cabin actually...) I flew quite a few times on BA club world on different aircrafts so decided to try AA and compare. I am intrigued about the business class bar on board. Hopefully better than club kitchen !
Only drawback is that I won't be able to visit the F OW lounge in LAX TBIT, but will only see the Flagship lounge in LAX T4, which is, by US lounge standards, pretty good as far as I recall...
