We live in Doha, Qatar and need to go to Barcelona March '16.

Qatar Airways flys direct from HIA to BCN. Emirates would be via Dubai but both are a considerable amount of money 5000QR+. I am quite happy to pay it but ideally I would like to do it cheaper.

Wait for a sale?
Split the journey, if so what route?

Any help appreciated.
