Timeout KL has good features, as well as poskod.my
I like the Malay rice at Capitol Cafe, a very old shop across from Sogo KL. It has all types of meat and veg dishes (nasi dagang, rendang, ulam, kerabu). Long queues during lunch. And look at the walls with 60s 70s pics of KL (many buildings torn down already). Reasonably priced too.
Kampung Baru has plenty of staff (Nasi Lemak Antarabangsa at night is famous) but I prefer the Nasi Lemak Tanglin (sold out by noon) at Tanglin food court near Lake Gardens. But you need a car for these places.
