+1 (you must have been involved in the hotelier business now/before)
but unfortunately there are just tooooooooooooooo many on this forum who "think" Marriott controls everything and is responsible for everything (even thinking that Marriott owns all their branded props)

Individual hotels make all the decisions about rates, revenue management, and guest/customer service. That's the way it's always been. Barring a tectonic shift in franchise agreements, that's the way it always will be.
If you can't make a reservation change online, you should contact the hotel. They are the only people authorized to override policies or rate/stay restrictions.
