So technically you can't gift the certificate itself, but you can gift it's value by buying a ticket for someone else using it...
Correct - I never suggested you couldn't. The OP asked if they could use it for something other then tickets, and the answer is still no. You can use it for a ticket for the recipient or someone else, yes, but still not for other stuff.
