One other thing to remember is that weather is one city can affect performance in other. For example, snow in YYZ can screw up YOW, YUL and a bunch of other places.
This is really important to keep in mind. It can be deceiving if you are in a warmer location. I remember what a SD said to me a few years ago when flying in February, "it's a crap shoot in winter". Deicing can also delay things. Depending where I'm flying and whether transborder is involved, I try to leave extra time between flights if at all possible.
