It is walkable, (and closer to T2 than T1), but rather exposed if the weather is poor. There is a free Radisson shuttle, but I found it's departure point (T1)poorly signed, and my phone battery had died so I ended up on foot. Drops at T2 then T1 on returning to the airport. So just make sure you have their number in your phone ahead of time and call them once you have your bags

I did find the morning shuttle back to T1 rather busy, it runs every 20mins or so as I recall, but again, just let the front desk know ahead of time.

By which I mean, if boarding takes ages due to the size of the plane, is it better to go last rather than first?
Although I have only used the A380 from T5 (C gates), I've not found boarding to be significantly slower due to size of plane. The upper deck/lower deck separation on board keeps things moving. I'd go for pre-board and get settled in. If you have lounge access at T3 (and time to visit), ask there on the day.

My "at the gate" experiences of the DUB-LHR departures has been rather chaotic at times - with DUB-LCY and DUB-LHR departures from adjacent gates at similar times, and people with too much/oversize hand luggage. I'd definitely consider pre-boarding on that sector, but you may have to fight your way to the front of the queue.

At DUB, I wouldn't rely on anything hot for breakfast in the lounge. Also it is up some stairs (don't think there is a lift) so will be somewhat slower to access with a stroller.

Hope the trip goes well
