Do we know how well these new systems are really working. From my perspective, loyalty just does not seem as important anymore. Give the poor mileage earning when I am not in business - plus the increase to redemptions, it is just not really an incentive anymore to fly. I use to buy $3,500 B fare tickets and upgrade - but why do that when I can land a $775 flight to the states in economy plus and enjoy an incredible hotel/holiday. So now I just fly economy - it is really not that bad (I was shocked to realise) - and am saving bundles of money. I was locked in to UA and to spending a premium for upgrades, etc - but now I just figure go with the lowest and enjoy the time at my destination. If I really want a premium experience - I buy it on Etihad, Emirates, Singapore...

If one adjusts for the decrease in fuel price - how do the financials look? Are these programs really good for business? They don't seem to be driving any loyalty from me anymore - even with 100% bonuses on purchasing miles....
