There are two online fora I would suggest. First is Fodors. Overall, I think Fodors has the best destination-oriented boards on the web.

Secondly, you might check the Australia & New Zealand section of BritishExpats. While the message board is geared mostly towards immigration, there is much good basic info there among the 22,000 posts about AU & NZ if you use the search function.

Additionally, I was there last March and will be returning for another long visit starting February 9th. If you have questions regarding itineraries or guide books, I've some suggestions also.
