Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not.
I just booked on AA.com yesterday, all AA codes on BA-BA//AA-AY. The Amadeus PNR for AY showed up automagically on Finnair.com. The one for BA did not and in fact, did not contain my FF#. (Luckily the AA ticket shows all three references.)
Or then it was a ploy by BA to make me pay for seat selection that I got for free as OWS... ?
