I got a very vague letter from budget saying that I owe them 195 bucks for a car I rented 10 months ago. It states nothing about the damage. It also says that I owe 25 dollars for roadside assistance. The worst part is that it states that they will charge my credit card 6 days after the letter is sent. This is a total scam!

First off, I have probably rented 300 cars from budget over the past 4 years with a perfect record. I know with 100% certainty that I did not damage the car I rented on that day and I have never used roadside assistance.

My question is: Do I have any recourse here? I'm sure I've signed all my rights away with their contract. Do I have to pay this silly invoice?

I"ve emailed them twice with no response. I've called and they said they would call me back with more information, but they haven't.

I have no idea what to do and I'm hoping someone will read this that has some experience fighting stupid letter like this.
