I travel with tools almost everytime I fly. I have hard-sided tool cases, and use a substatial lock on both of them. If thieves want my stuff, they are going to have to work for it. I have travelled 50,000 mi/year for the last 6 years and have never had anything taken out of these cases. I have however, had items removed from my unlocked suitcase. Since then, everything stays locked. When I checked in in EWR on 1/3/03, they had the scanners in the counter area, so I was able to have them scanned before they went down the belt. I am returning on the tenth, so we shall see what the case is then....
