I want to do F but the DFW flights only have J. How does J class on a 787 compare to F class on the 777? I have flown F once before and will be in it in Feb. 2016. The sky suites look like F seats, just not as wide. How is the food on this route in J?
I thought the food on the way to NRT was fantastic. I had the Japanese option, and it was some of the best food I've ever had in the air. The grid of 9 appetizers was very good, as was the beef main that followed. There is no set second meal, you just order whatever you like off the menu.

On the way back, I had the Western meal and it was not as impressive. Even though the flight gets into Dallas early in the morning, they don't serve breakfast which was a bit disappointing.

I can't compare to JAL F, but the sky suites were fine. Comfortable enough for sitting/lounging, with a giant screen. Not much storage, though. JAL has a mattress in the overhead bins that you can set out for sleeping. Even with that, I couldn't get comfortable. I'm 6'0" and the suite was almost too short for me. I am terrible at sleeping on planes, though. Certainly shoot for a window seat. They are the most private, but still have aisle access.

The worst thing about the cabin was the bathrooms. They are tiny and there are only two for a lot of J passengers. Fancy Japanese toilets at least.
