I receive a fair amount of e-mail from the media and handle it on a case-by-case basis, but I almost always at least respond to legitimate organizations which I recognize by name. I think this relationship is a good thing as the media can be our very powerful ally when we have something important to say. It is, for instance, my understanding that a Flyer Talker working with the press was instrumental in getting UA to honor the legendary $27 SFO/CDG fares.
I know that the media attention which began with an
article in the Wall Street Journal was very significant in helping me in my dealings with the TSA in Portland last spring.
I say, go for it.
