I live right on top of Xujiahui metro and do metro/maglev out and usually taxi back (due to arrival after metro hours). I did do the metro all the way out there from Weining Road and I thought I was going to slit my wrists because it took so long.
Line 9 must be my favorite means of transport in Shanghai. Links most of the important parts of the city in my unimportant life, rarely too crowded and newish, practical stations.
