I was on business visit to Dandong and had taken GZ - Dalian flight and car journey onwards to Dandong. On my return leg I was booked in Shenzhen Airlines whose journey time was 5 hours 30 minutes almost 1 hr 45 mins more than my GZ - DAL CS flight.

On reaching Dalian airport I reliased my flight was late by 3 hrs and that it would depart around 9 pm and reach GZ at 2 am at which time GZ metro is closed and would have to take a very expensive cab to Zhujiang New Town.

Since I am Indian and Dalian airport being a small one I felt helpless and talked to several people in Shenzhen but to no avail. then I went back to ticketing counter and explained her my case(its very difficult even though she knew english bcz of diiferent accents) and gave her an alternative to transfer me on a CS flight leaving in 25 minutes . I thought it was a long shot and I was just being extremely optimistic . The Shenzhen agent called CS agent mumbled something in Chinese and voila she said we could travel on that flight , she issued us a credit note and told to go to CS counter . We went to CS counter they issued us tickets hardly16-17 mins remained . We were given boarding passes , there was a looong queue for security .. we showed Chinese authoritites our Boarding pass and they let us cut the line and go thru a seperate channel ... and we reached the boarding line . on entering our aircraft we realised we were UPGRADED to PREMIUM ECONOMY .... We had an extremely low cost ticket of 8500 INR (800 CNY) and we travelled in CS in Premium class which has tickets around 40000 INR. What could have been a harrowing experience turned into a marvellous one . Thanks to Dalian Security , the CS agent & most of all SHZ agent.

We reached much ahead as we would have reached even our original flight hadnt delayed. At 11.30pm I was back in hotel.

Also there was a hot girl next to me and we chatted for like 3 hrs.
plus we got Veg meals also.

All in all a good flight in every way possible.
