While I most certainly agree with your post, you make 2 contradictory statements. Name matching is a routine issue worldwide because the matching algorithm is not the same for airlines, passport agencies, ticketing systems,
the field sizes for printing may cut off names, or middle initial and or full middle name are used or not used to match,. This makes it exact document matches difficult.
