This puts me in the following situation: I currently have 74,058 qualifying miles, leaving me with ~36,000 miles to get in the next 2 weeks...
(I'm not sure if the 2 points per dollar on the Rapid Rewards card count - could someone please clarify? I see in the FAQ that Chase Ultimate Rewards transfers to SW don't count, nor do the "promotional bonuses for flights," but I'm not sure if those are the same thing as the Rapid Rewards card points).
By booking through RocketMiles for my hotel this week, I can get another 3,000, taking me to ~27000 miles needed.
Well, in addition to all the other ways people can screw themselves out of the 2-year CP, this is a new one on me.
Any points from credit card spend, assuming they appear on your December statement, will count.
If you do some serious spending NOW, at least a few days before your statement drops, you can make some progress. But I think you are going to have to so some flying on BS fares soon.
Not sure about Rocketmiles, but I do not think you should rely on this source.
This is yet another reason if you try this year-end maneuver, you should put the card in your sock drawer and do the spend Jan. 1.
