That is why he is trusted. He is not a mouthpiece for the places he recommended.
He's one of the few food bloggers I actively follow, primarily because of the depth of his writing. Vast majority of bloggers (myself included) have no actual talent in writing, and just constantly recycle permutations of "I went here, I ate that, it was delicious, it tasted like the ocean/earth/sky/toilet, it was expensive, 4 stars thank you very much."
Dr Leslie, in some of his articles, seems more like an actual food writer with the proper research and insights on science, history, etc.
Anyway back on topic, if I was in charge of the Michelin guide, I would totally award 1 star to Chai Ho (pork) satay
