If they do choose a new hub, wherever that may be, I wish they would make it an "allowable connection" to allow for routing variety without breaking the fare. For example, if I fly PDX-BWI ... through LAX it's priced as a PDX-LAX fare combined with LAX-BWI even though LAX is the only option with an overnight flight (unlike SEA).
I often have afternoon meetings at company or client offices in El Segundo, so the fact that this prices as two separate segments doesn't actually bother me ... however, at the risk of derailing the thread, I'll add the proviso that they also dump the "same routing" SDC rule ... if one of those meetings gets cancelled the day before, I'd sure like to be able to SDC DCA-LAX-SEA to DCA-SEA (and the more extreme case, SEA-LAX-BWI to SEA-BWI -- or, even better, the afternoon SEA-DCA)
