Yes. This isn't quite as time sensitive as you might imagine. For MQM bonuses, purchases are strictly calendar-year based. So long as a purchase POSTS to your account in 2015, it counts as a 2015 purchase. It may take a few days into 2016 for the MQMs to transfer to DL, but those MQMs will be classified as 2015 MQMs so long as the purchase transaction POSTS to your Amex account as a 2015 transaction.
Generally, a purchase made "today" posts to my account "tomorrow" or the day after. If you make your purchase by Dec 29, there should be little question of the transaction posting to your account by Dec 31 and thus qualifying as a 2015 transaction.
