Depending on budget, try the Able Planet noise cancelling headphones - they're usually under $100. I had those as my first because I had no idea if I would like noise cancelling etc. It was an expensive experiment as I now have OC15 Bose headphones and Bose QC20 earbuds.......love them both! I really dislike the constant roar on a plane now.... I don't seem to miss out on any rounds of drinks or food but maybe I just look as if I really would be upset if I did miss out!
