The was an abundance of metal knifes to use, all of which could be put in your pocket or bag for the flight.
There was no more screening from the lounge to boarding the plane.

What kind of metal knives were they?? Makes a difference. Metal knives have been allowed by the TSA for several weeks now, as long as they are not pointy or very sharp. See the TSA website: rounded blade or butter knives are permitted items. Pointy steak knives are still not allowed.
