AS doesn't want to RON out of SJO/LIR, and wants the connection at LAX on one end or the other to be at least somewhat within reason (moving the LAX departure 3 hours later means SJO/LIR-LAX is getting in at 1 am, meaning you'd run LAX-SEA departing at 3-4 am, ugh- a midnight departure from LAX means you might get SOME other passengers).
I took that flight last Sunday. Left Disneyland at 10pm and still was in my own bed in SEA by 3:30am. I'm happy to have that.
