points will be added against the date of the flight. If you claim for a flight in a previous year there will be 2 transactions, 1 to add the TPs for the flight and 2 to remove the TPs as they were for the previous year which had been reset to zero
If you are prepared to lose the TPs and avios you have in your account, you could close it and open a new account so all your flights were within 12 months....I know you cannot have 2 accounts but 'think' it is ok to close one and open new
