TravelRest pillow results flying RT LAX to Europe--in coach--twice!
Okay, I'm not one of those upgrade gurus. I fly only 12-15 times a year. Some short but most SMF to HNL and return (about 6 hours). In 2014 and 2015, I added four 11.5+-hour trips (LAX to Stockholm, LAX to Amsterdam, Budapest to LAX and Oslo to LAX). All in coach. Not even "super" coach. You know, back there with the masses...but I got where I needed to at a good price.
My TravelRest goes with me on any flight over four hours. Even for simply daytime relaxing, it works well. For longer flights, it gives me the opportunity to truly sleep. Not that I'm usually able to sleep--I'm just one of those, I guess, who doesn't ramp down enough to sleep in-flight--but I still treasure the TravelRest. It stores small and is easily adjustable mid-use (inflate it higher than you think you'll need then release air slowly to get it to your own perfect pressure).
I have *never* even attempted to hook it over the seat back or headrest. I just slip it on "guitar-style" then pull up on the string to get the right fit. 'Sounds funny, I know, but I even use the "rest your arm here in the loop" advice from the product's website and find it allows me to relax my arm muscles (resulting in looser shoulders for a long flight).
My 81-year-old mom uses hers easily, too. We had a problem with her pillow's valve getting pushed into the pillow and had to follow the website video demonstrating how to retrieve and fix it. It hasn't happened again and she'll be taking her TravelRest pillow with her on a January LAX to Auckland flight. When you're traveling alone and an 81-year-old woman (and you only weigh 100 pounds), you only carry what has proven to work well for you. The TravelRest pillow fits that description for us.
