The Marquis will provide special keys showing you are staying there NYE. In addition, Times Square will have barriers dividing everything into pens. People will be in prime positions 10-12 hours in advance. We stayed there NYE 2009-2010. We were in our room until about 10pm then went downstairs. We were able to slip out the Times Square side of the property to a prime spot. Not sure if that was normal or if we were lucky. Took 3 hours to get back to our room after 1am as the elevator line was that long...
