Perhaps this is the wet-behind-the-ears naievete of a 22 year old talking, but are the random searches ALL full body cavity searches? I've flown a lot, and I've never even had my bags searched, but now I'm paranoid about these new TSA searches.

I have not heard of a single true 'cavity' search occuring. This is more of an exagerated term used by the people who most object to the random searches.
