Have you been to a plastics-using manufacturer and done a check for microscopic plastic particulate residue on those plastic utensils and cups?
I would rather share a metal spoon boiled extensively between use than use a plastic utensil.
Either way, we live longer than ever before; and apparently being extremely germophobic wasn't necessary to get us up to 7 billion people.
