I know I should not contribute to a topic already beaten to death, but I can't help myself.

I used to stand on the principal that I wouldn't accept something that isn't mine if offered by error. However I, as most of us in the modern world, spend ALL DAY LONG dealing with the mistakes of STUPID INDIFFERENT people. These mistakes are NEVER in our favor (i.e. airlines, American Express, the phone company, the clerk that can't make change or overcharges you, or makes up rules on the fly, etc.) They suck up an amazing amount of time and effort just to get back to break-even. If once in a blue moon an error is in my favor I NOW TAKE IT. It still doesn't come close to making up for all the others that go against me and I don't have the time and energy to fight or perhaps don't even notice.

Just my new and improved view on the matte
