Club level floors generally have a lounge on them that is staffed with a concierge and offers breakfast in the morning and appetizers in the late afternoon. What you receive and what they are worth varies tremendously from hotel to hotel. The lounge at the Conrad Singapore, for instance, offers a very good and complete breakfast buffet, tea and chocolates in the early afternoon and cocktails and warm appetizers in the afternoon all in a lovely setting. At other hotels, I've been in lounges where the lounge breakfast is little more than cold cereal and you have to pay additional for the afternoon cocktails. FT's individual hotel boards usually have something on them about a particular hotel's club floor so that would probably be a good guide if you're trying to decide how much it might be worth at any one hotel.

With Hilton if you are gold or above you are supposed to receive club level benefits or at least free breakfast. We're gold with Starwood and sometimes I get the lounge and sometimes I don't. I've never paid for it, but at some hotels it could be worthwhile especially if there's more than one of you staying in the room.
