High-temperature, detergent and bleach-washed , high-heat-dried towels are probably amongst the most sterile items your hands will come across in a day. Your jacket pockets, house- and car-keys, fridge door handle, phone and computer keyboard are almost certainly more nasty than the hotel towels at the hotels which I use.
Plastic exposure to avoid bugs? Wasn't there a reason that they banned BPA plastics in children products? I doubt that it will be the last kind of plastic that is deemed a health risk.
I'll take the high temperature dishwasher-washed metal utensils.
And I say this as a germophobe of sorts.
Agreed. Last year I spent 225 nights on the road, this year much less, but still a lot. I make sure the hotels I stay in have slippers on demand, (and I bring a pair just in case), wipe down the contact surfaces with wet naps, and never turn on the TV (eww, remote). The last thing I worry about is the towels. I've never *knock on wood* gotten bed bugs either. I worry about other things in life
