Reminds me of another thread here on FT where a flyer complained that a ground crew removed all but the most current of his/her green tags. Similar situation where the traveler measured his/her worth by how loud the green tags were when they fluttered in the wind on their way down the jetbridge.

To be fair, I know people (myself included) who did/do similar purely as souvenirs. Back in middle/high school, I don't know a single person who didn't keep all the ski lift tickets on their coat. And I enjoyed having UA, LX, IB, BA, and LY tags around my bag at once, no less than a passport filled with stamps from different countries.

Never showed it off or mentioned it - just something personal and fun.
