Yes. Like I said, I used to do it all the time with my car keys and since I was walking through the same detectors, wearing exactly the same uniform and metal wings, buckles, etc., multiple times per day it was pretty eazy to test.

If you ever run into a slow checkpoint, maybve at a small airport, see if they'll let you try it out by walking through with your keys in the first then again with them in your pocket.
