Question about using your Marriott Rewards # but another name on a reservation
I did some searches and was unable to find anything on this, so my apologies if this has been answered before. But I recently swapped over to Marriott from Hilton and don't want to accidentally trigger something that'll cause me to get my account closed.
My fiancee has a work conference coming up in January and since it's somewhere warm in the winter I'm taking vacation and tagging along. We'll be staying at a Renaissance. I have Gold status with Marriott and she has no status so we booked it through my account. But since we needed her name on the receipt for reimbursement purposes we put her name on the reservation even though I will be there as well. Which brings up a 2 part question... they first is, is that violating any T&Cs that Marriott generally cares about? And second, is the hotel likely to still provide the status benefits I'd get if it were under my name? I'm more concerned about the first question.
The reason to use my account vs. opening one up for her is that she doesn't travel enough on her own to merit us having split accounts and she wouldn't get enough points from just this stay for anything worthwhile, but I'm likely to have 80-100 nights next year so the points can be used if added to my pile. But if it is going to look fishy to Marriott we'll go ahead and just open up an account for her.
