Precisely the same issue I had. I checked the IP, the DHCP server did issue me an IP, but nothing happened. Tried to even ping the gateway and that failed. Like wth? How is that even possible?
And wrt the whole Mac vs Windows thing, unless we get some serious numbers to sample that, it's a moot point. It should make no difference (from a technical standpoint)
